Southeastern says passengers seeing services return to normal on Medway Valley Line after person hit by train between Strood and Paddock Wood

Services are returning to normal several hours after a person was hit by a train.

The incident, which took place at about 1.50pm, had been affecting the Medway Valley Line.

Emergency services were called to the scene following the incident, which happened between Strood and Paddock Wood.

Southeastern warned passengers of the delays, with disruption continuing throughout the evening.

It forced passengers to use their ticket on the number 71 Arriva route between Snodland and Maidstone.

However, speaking at 8pm, the operator says services are now returning to normal through Maidstone West.
