M20 hit by 11 miles of queues due to broken down vehicle between Leybourne and Maidstone

Eleven miles of traffic built up earlier this morning due to a broken down vehicle on the M20.

One lane of the London bound carriageway of the M20 was blocked between Junction 4 for Leybourne and Junction 3 for the M26.

At their worst, the huge queues stretch back to Junction 7 for Detling Hill and Maidstone adding to the misery of the roadworks in the area.

Travel time was estimated to be 45 minutes while the vehicle, which has broken down just before the link road to the M26, was recovered.

It has been removed and all lanes have been reopened but delays of about 15 minutes remain.
