The funds raised will add to the £265,250 total from a farewell weekend where other pieces were auctioned at Lockmeadow in September.

The trail, which saw more than 100 small and large sheep figures dotted around Maidstone was later revealed to have boosted the town’s economy by more than £2 million.

Now, Sheep-nanigans, which was designed by artist Sadie Williams and created by Hope Kinnersley, is to be auctioned off again.

The “one-of-a-kind” statue has been hand-painted by 1960s children’s writer and illustrator Ralph Steadman who drew from his works on Quasimodo Mouse, Again and Alice in Wonderland.

The auction will close at midnight on Thursday, December 5. To find out more about taking part click here.

The winner will also receive books which inspired the decorations on the sculpture.

Project manager for the trail Erica Snow said: “We are thrilled to be re-auctioning “Sheep-nanigans” as the final part of Shaun the Sheep in the Heart of Kent art trail.

“We are so grateful to the artists Ralph Steadman, Sadie Williams and Hope Kinnersley for putting together this beautiful piece which we hope will raise thousands for Heart of Kent Hospice.”
