As a result, trains may be delayed by up to 30 minutes, cancelled or revised. Disruption is expected to last until 8.30am.

A second fault with the signalling system, between Newington and Rainham, is also causing delays, with trains running towards London unable to call at Newington.

Response staff attended last night but were not able to fully fix the issue and investigations will continue after the morning peak period has ended, with disruption expected until 9am.

Trains on all routes from Faversham towards London are experiencing delays of up to 10 minutes as they pass through Newington.

Southeastern is arranging replacement buses to run from Newington to connect with trains at Rainham. Services towards Dover Priory and Ramsgate are not affected.
