Man arrested at Bearsted Station following a Hunted One sting

Two men arrested on suspicion of grooming following stings by a paedophile vigilante group, known as The Hunted One, have been released on bail.

The first man was arrested at Bearsted Railway Station at 12.35am on Saturday morning.

Police were called by members of The Hunted One, who say the man answered fake texts he believed were from a 13-year-old girl, whom he arranged to meet at the station.

The group posted live video on its website of them confronting the man, who wouldn't get out of his car until police officers arrive.

The 47-year-old from Gillingham was released on bail until May 6.

At 1.35pm the following day, police arrested a second man on suspicion of grooming from outside Chatham Football Ground in Maidstone Road, Chatham.

Again it is alleged that he was responding to messages he thought were from a child, but were actually posted by the paedophile hunters.

The 69-year-old, from Luton was released on bail until May 4.
