Officers found the car two days later.

In Barming, later in June, items from two cars were reported stolen, then police were told of similar thefts from vehicles parked in Tarragon Road, Coriander Drive and Marigold Way on June 22 and in North Street the following day. Sunglasses and cash were swiped.

Over the same period, a suspect is also alleged to have tried car door handles and, in two cases, entered and searched vehicles in Abingdon Road, North Street, Hop Garden Close and Oaken Reach.

This week Thomas Levey was arrested.

The 27-year-old, of Douglas Road, Maidstone was charged with burglary, seven counts of theft and four counts of vehicle interference.
