The Kentish Belle steam train to stop at Harrietsham station

An iconic steam train on a tour of Kent will be stopping in Harrietsham tonight.

The Kentish Belle is expected to arrive at the village at around 6.15pm for an unofficial stop to collect water.

The train left London Victoria station steam hauled this morning by 45596 Bahamas and made its way across the south London suburban lines through Bromley South, before joining the Maidstone East line.

Cutting across central Kent, it went through Ashford before heading to Canterbury West at 11:39am.

Those on board are on a day trip across the county continuing on to Ramsgate, Broadstairs, Margate.

The service terminated at Faversham shortly after midday.

It is now on its way back to London Victoria where it will make the pit-stop in Harrietsham.

It will travel by way of Sevenoaks and Bromley South to conclude the trip with views of the countryside.
