Three arrested on suspicion of drug dealing and having a knife after M2 chase near Maidstone

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing and having a knife after a motorway police chase.

Officers on patrol noticed a car speeding on the coastbound carriageway of the M2 at 8.45am today.

The vehicle failed to stop when requested and police pursued the vehicle until it eventually stopped on the A229 heading towards Maidstone town centre.

When searching the car officers seized what were believed to be Class A drugs, as well as the weapon.

An 18-year-old man from London, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, theft of a motor vehicle, driving without a licence or insurance, possession of an offensive weapon and possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.

A 36-year-old man from Leytonstone, was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of an offensive weapon and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs while a 22-year-old man from Essex, was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs, possession of an offensive weapon and theft of a motor vehicle.
