Big Mac buyers and McMuffin lovers will have to wait to quench their appetites as one of the county's busiest McDonald's closes for refurbishment.
The fast-food restaurant which sits on The Broadway turn towards Lockmeadow in Maidstone has closed for the three weeks to alter the layout.
The single doorway will be converted into a split entrance - one for delivery drivers and the other for eat-in diners and takeaway customers.
A corridor will separate the rest of the inside of the eatery for delivery drivers to access the counter and collect their orders without obstructing other people queuing for their meals.
The work is expected to continue until July 14.
Franchisee for the Maidstone branch, Ali El-Hajj, said: "Customers have a different purpose coming into the store than those collecting deliveries.
"Drivers aim to be in and out with their deliveries while customers want to enjoy the dining area.
"It's all being changed with the customer in mind and hopefully it will create a better experience."
The refurbishment is part of a bigger initiative by McDonald's and the same changes have already occurred in other franchises across the country.
The changes could also be likely to happen to the other McDonald's in Maidstone town centre on Week Street.
Customers with electric cars will also gain an added bonus as roadworks on Hart Street are adding charging ports to the restaurant's car park.
Gareth Pearson, McDonald’s UK and Ireland chief operations officer, said: “The pace of change within the restaurant industry is relentless, and the pandemic accelerated this with digital adoption gathering greater pace.
“Our customers rightly expect to have choice in how and where they order and collect their food, and our job is to ensure that every experience is a great one.
“For this to be the case, we know we also have to provide our restaurant teams and delivery partners with the best possible environment to work in.”
