Man and woman charged after police uncovered suspected brothel in Maidstone

Two people have been arrested and charged after police uncovered a suspected brothel.

On Thursday, January 6, officers from the town's community policing team went to an address near Fairmeadow, Maidstone, after concerns were raised for the welfare of the occupants.

Once inside, they suspected the premises was being used as a brothel and a woman was arrested.

A man was also detained outside the property and cash was seized.

Amran Hussain, 42, of London Road, Greenhithe and Natlada Nachaipet, 32, of no fixed address, were later charged with causing or inciting prostitution for gain and possessing criminal property, namely the seized cash.

Hussain was also charged with managing a brothel.

The pair appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday where they were remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on February 4. Dec 7
