Another collision, again involving just one car, happened along the same stretch at 8am.

Emergency services attended both crashes. No serious injuries have been reported.

Slow traffic was also reported on the London-bound carriageway, between J6 for Blue Bell Hill and J4 for Leybourne.

Elsewhere in the Maidstone area, flooding is causing delays on two lanes of the gyratory at Rocky Hill and the A20 London Road in Aylesford.

It comes after Kent wakes up to heavy rain this morning.

A MET office warning came into force at 7am and the deluge is not expected to ease until 3pm.
