Two more people have been charged following a violent burglary which left a man with life-changing injuries.
Emergency services were called to reports of a group of people breaking into a property near Heath Road in Coxheath, near Maidstone.
It is alleged the group assaulted two men inside the home with a metal bar and a knife during the attack, shortly after 8.10pm on December 23, before stealing a watch and fleeing in two cars.
A man in his 40s suffered serious injuries to his head and arm and was taken to hospital. His injuries are described as life-changing.
Now, after further investigations, Mollie Fairclough, 23, of Cardens Road, Cliffe Woods, Rochester, and Ben Tanton, 21, of Symons Avenue, Chatham, have both been charged with aggravated burglary.
Fairclough was charged on Monday, June 2, and Tanton the following day.
Both have been released on conditional bail and are due to appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on July 8.
Another man, also in his 40s, was treated for a serious head injury.
Officers carried out a search of the area at the time and seized a knife and a crowbar.
An investigation led to the arrest of eight men and two women between December 31, 2024, and March 3, 2025.
Six men were previously charged with aggravated burglary. They are:
• Keith Cranley, 41, Darren Adams, 27, and D’Quan Samuel, 25, all of Shipwrights Avenue, Chatham
• Ainsley Louis-Jean, 24, of Wiltshire Close, Chatham
• Solomon Howard, 23, of Meresborough Road, Gillingham
• Tyresse Johnson, 23, of Challenger Close, Rainham
Johnson has since pleaded guilty and has been remanded in custody ahead of a sentencing hearing. A date is yet to be confirmed.
The remaining five men are currently remanded in custody and are due to stand trial at Maidstone Crown Court on September 1.
A 64-year-old woman who was arrested during the investigation has since been released without charge.
