A house fire in Grove Green this morning was caused by under-floor heating.

Two crews were called to Grove Green Road, Maidstone, at 9.30am after smoke was seen billowing from the building.

Firefighters using breathing apparatus tackled the blaze before using a fan to clear smoke which had filled the property.

It is believed the fire stemmed from heating underneath the ground floor of the property.

No casualties were reported and it is not believed anyone was in the house at the time of the fire.
