A man has been arrested after police found a knife hidden in a bicycle.

Officers on foot in Maidstone chased down the suspect, a 53-year-old man, thought to be riding the bike.

When they caught him they found a knife hidden within a bicycle lock.

Police tweeted about the find using the hashtag #LivesNotKnives and #OpSceptre, which targets people carrying weapons.

He was arrested in Wheeler Street, Maidstone, yesterday but police did not reveal where he is from.
