Four teenagers attack woman in Mote Park

Four teenagers attacked a woman as she walked through Mote Park.

The victim, aged in her 40s, was heading along a footpath towards Willington Street at around 8.15pm last night when she was approached from behind.

The youths, two boys and two girls, then attacked the woman, causing injuries to her face and hand as they allegedly punched and kicked her.

She later went to hospital for medical attention.

The suspects were white, aged between 16 and 18, around five ft 8 ins and with local accents.

Both boys were of slim build, with short dark hair and were wearing dark clothing while one girl had long dark shoulder-length hair and the second had long hair that fell past her shoulders. Both girls are also described as being of slim build.

Police are appealing for information.

Inspector Stephen Kent, of the Maidstone Community Safety Unit, said: “We are appealing to anybody who was in the park to call us if they saw the incident or four people fitting the description of the suspects.

“The assault happened on the side of the park nearest to the Shepway estate and we are asking drivers with dashcam and residents with CCTV to check for footage that may assist the investigation.”
