Before that he struck seven in 20 appearances for Dorking Wanderers in the 2019/20 campaign.

Stones boss Hakan Hayrettin knows all about Barham having scouted the player when he moved from Greenwich Borough to Barnet, then managed by John Still.

Barham revealed he’s been close to joining United previously.

He told Stones TV: “Hak’s known me now for a few years.

“When I got my move to Barnet from Greenwich he came and scouted me a few times because obviously he worked with Stilly.

“It’s been a move that in the past two years it’s nearly been there but it’s not and I’ve gone to other clubs but now I’m here and reunited with Hak and I’m delighted to get the move done.

“It’s a massive club for this level, especially with the fan base we’ve got here.

“Every time I’ve played against Maidstone the fans have been brilliant, home and away, so that’s one of the biggest factors I’m looking forward to.

“Where the club is at the moment, I definitely think it should be in the league above with everything it’s got going for it, so I’m really excited.”
