Maidstone face promotion rivals Dorking in a big midweek game at the Gallagher Stadium.
Marc White’s side lost top spot in National League South on Saturday after being held to a 2-2 draw at home to Chelmsford.
They are a point behind new leaders Worthing and seven clear of Maidstone, who remain in the final play-off spot following their goalless draw at Hornchurch.
United have never beaten Dorking but played well with 10 men in a 1-1 draw at Meadowbank in November after losing defender Reiss Greenidge to a first-half red card.
They could certainly do with a result tonight (7.45pm) as the battle for promotion goes into the last nine matches.
“It’s always been a good game against Dorking,” said manager George Elokobi.
“We can’t look at the result we had at their place.
“We have to look at the context of this game.
“We have to make sure we analyse and prepare our group of players to ensure they know what’s coming in terms of what we need to do in and out of possession and on the transition.
“It’s important everyone understands their roles and we’ll look at the freshness of the team and the squad and make a decision so we can have a team that’s going to compete well.”
Maidstone battled to a point at Hornchurch where a difficult pitch made it virtually impossible to play any football.
Elokobi is anticipating a different type of game against Dorking on the Gallagher’s 3G surface.
“Every game poses a different challenge,” he said.
“Dorking is a completely different game and the context of the game is completely different.
“They’re a side that’s going to be coming to the Gallagher full of confidence and we need to be ready, we need to ensure we are ready to take the game to them.
“But, more importantly, we have to nullify their strengths and then we have to impose our strengths on them and I’m sure we’re going to have the full Gallagher right behind us on Tuesday night.”
