Maidstone Roller Dance Club bring home four gold medals from British Championships in Great Yarmouth

Members of Maidstone Roller Dance Club enjoyed big success at the British Championships.

Their team of 10 skaters returned from Great Yarmouth with four golds, one silver and a bronze medal.

Oliver Martin won the senior men’s solo dance for the fourth consecutive year, adding his second gold with partner Dani Hayon in the senior couples' dance.

Club coach Ann Odhams took the advanced classic solo dance and Hayley Paterson completed the gold haul in the intermediate classic solo dance.

Zac Martin claimed silver in the men’s solo dance and Lucy Aves secured bronze in the youth ladies’ solo dance.

International recognition has followed, with Oliver Martin called up for the World Roller Games in Argentina, the European Championships in Andorra and the Cup of Europe in Holland.

Brother Zac has been selected for the two European tournaments and Laura Donoghue, despite not placing in the top three, is off to the Cup of Europe.
