Maidstone United defender Temi Eweka joins National League Eastleigh after rejecting new contract

Defender Eweka has now joined Eastleigh, who have also been linked with 21-goal top scorer Blair.

Eweka, voted players’ player-of-the-season at Maidstone, previously played in the National League with Maidenhead.

He’s keen to show what he can do in non-league’s top flight after limited opportunities with the Magpies.

He’ll be working under former Wimbledon, Ipswich, Sunderland and Southampton goalkeeper Kelvin Davis, who led the Spitfires to a 13th-placed finish in the 2024/25 campaign.

Eweka, 25, told Eastleigh’s website: “Once I knew there was interest, with the other clubs that were interested in me, Eastleigh was the one I wanted to go to.

“After speaking to the gaffer, as a footballer, it’s always nice to be wanted, and the interest he showed in me was top, and from walking around and meeting everyone, it seems like a top club already, so I’m happy to be here.”
