Alex Flisher was stretchered off soon after scoring Maidstone's second-half winner again Bognor Regis on Saturday.

Flisher suffered a knee injury in a challenge with Regis right-back Harvey Whyte and looks likely to miss Stones' game at Billericay on Monday night.

Flisher's goal, after Aaron Simpson did brilliantly to wrap his foot around a seemingly lost cause to play in a cross, means Maidstone are only three points behind Ryman League Premier Division leaders Margate with four games in hand.

Simpson also created United's opener, a smart from finish from Jack Parkinson after only three minutes.

Stones might have had a penalty when Frannie Collin was barged over when through but Bognor enjoyed the best of the first half and levelled through Stuart Green's volley at a free-kick after 37 minutes.

If Bognor controlled the first half, the second half belonged to United.

They were more in the visitors' faces, denying a decent footballing side possession, and played very much on the front foot.

Frannie Collin and Matt Bodkin had efforts blocked within seconds of each other while Sonny Miles had a blatant penalty for a shirt-pull turned down before Flisher struck on 71 minutes.

Maidstone: Worgan, Simpson, Starkey, Coyle, Miles, Rogers, Bodkin (Brown 90mins), Parkinson, May, Collin (Akrofi 88mins), Flisher (Greenhalgh 78mins) Subs not used: Jordan, Godmon. Attendance: 1,711.
