Maidstone United sell Alex Flisher to Margate for undisclosed fee

Alex Flisher has joined Margate from Maidstone for an undisclosed fee.

Flisher, transfer-listed after rejecting a new deal at the Gallagher, was quickly linked with the Blues, who are managed by his former Stones team-mate Steve Watt.

Another United old boy, Jamie Coyle, was interested in taking the forward to Welling, but Ryman League Margate have their man.

Maidstone boss Jay Saunders said: “No one will forget Flish’s time with the club.

“He made an outstanding contribution to his hometown side over the last eight years and will be missed by fans, players and staff alike.

“As I said before, we wish him well in his future career and extend our wishes to him and his wife Georgina as they prepare for the arrival of their first child next month.”

Flisher, 25, played 275 times for Maidstone, making his debut in 2009.
