Maidstone’s latest signing is relocating to the area from Yorkshire.

Midfielder Regan Booty heads south after finishing the curtailed 2020/21 season with Bradford Park Avenue.

Booty, 23, came through the youth ranks at Huddersfield Town, spending 13 years with the Terriers.

His first experience of men’s football came on loan at Aldershot, where he spent the 2018 season, followed by a permanent switch to Notts County.

He made 24 appearances for the Magpies before injury halted his progress, but he rebuilt his fitness at Bradford Park Avenue in National North and is ready for his new challenge.

The move suits Booty, who told Stones TV: “I don’t think being away from home is a big problem for me.

“The last two years I’ve been away from home and I’ve loved it.

“I can’t wait to move down here and meet all the new lads as well.”

Booty learned a lot as a youth-team player at Huddersfield in what was a golden period for the club as David Wagner’s side reached the Premier League.

Just being around it helped shape Booty as a player and he’s looking forward to showing Stones fans what he’s all about.

He said: “I try and take the game by the scruff of the neck, get on the ball as much as possible and try and create as much as possible.

"I just love getting on the ball, passing it and hopefully setting up a few goals for us.”
