Maidstone United manager George Elokobi misses his side’s National League South game at Weston-super-Mare after being taken unwell this week

Maidstone United manager George Elokobi is missing his side’s National League South game at Weston through illness.

Elokobi “became unwell on Monday and has been recuperating at home ever since”, the Stones said in a statement.

“He had hoped to travel but has taken advice to remain at home until he’s 100%,” the club added.

Assistant manager Craig Fagan and head of recruitment Zach Foster-Crouch are in charge as Maidstone look to build on their six-game unbeaten run and move a step closer to securing a play-off spot against a Weston side pushing to break into the top seven.

“Everyone connected with Maidstone United sends their best wishes to George and looks forward to seeing him back at the Gallagher next week,” said the Stones.
