Ryman League round-up

Whitstable Town's play-off bid was dented in Ryman League Division 1 South as they slipped to a 1-0 home defeat against Tooting & Mitcham.

The visitors' leading goal scorer Dan Summers struck the only goal of the game in the sixth minute to leave Town three points of the final play-off spot, and having played a game more.

Herne Bay moved above Town and just two points of the play-offs with a 1-0 win at East Grinstead.

Faversham consolidated their spot in second with a 2-0 win at Guernsey.

At the other end of the table, Hythe Town eased their relegation worries with a 4-0 win against bottom side Horsham.

Craig Thompson gave them an early lead, before three goals in the final 19 minutes sealed the home win - Shaun Welford, Sam Bewick and Jordan Wells scoring to move them 12 points clear of the drop zone.

Sittingbourne were denied all three points at Hastings by a late equaliser.

Miles Cornwell put Bourne in front just after the hour, but the home side levelled with nine minutes left through Tyrell Richardson-Brown to leave the Brickies nine points clear of the bottom three.

Ramsgate remain in big trouble, second from bottom and three points from safety, after they lost 2-1 at Walton & Hersham.

James Cottee scored for the home side after nine minutes and doubled the lead a minute after half-time. Tom Chapman pulled one back two minutes later, but they couldn't find an equaliser.

In the Ryman Premier Division, Maidstone extended their lead at the top to eight points as Billy Bricknell struck a second-half equaliser at Harrow Borough, after Marc Charles-Smith had given the home side the advantage in the first half. Click here for the full report.

The Stones have edged further ahead because Margate slipped to a heavy 3-0 home defeat against Enfield.

Tonbridge Angels held play-off chasing Bognor Regis Town to a 1-1 draw at Longmead.

On-loan Margate striker Jason Prior gave Town the lead on 56 minutes but Mitchell Pinnock replied from the penalty spot seven minutes later to earn a share of the spoils.

VCD Athletic eased their relegation worries as they fought back from a goal down to earn an impressive away win at title-challenging Dulwich Hamlet.

Former Gillingham forward Kevin James gave Dulwich the lead on 29 minutes only for Karl Dent to equalise seven minutes later.

And it was Dent who won the match for Athletic, netting just after the hour mark to seal the points, as they climbed two places in the table, leaving them two points from safety.

Chatham are left looking worringly over their shoulder after they were beaten 3-1 against fellow strugglers Romford in Division 1 North.

First-half goals from Abs Seymour and Loui Hazlewood put the home side in control, before a Joe Bingham penalty on 53 minutes brought Town back into the game.

However Nick Reynolds struck the killer third goal in the final minute to leave Romford, in the final relegation spot, just three points behind their opponents with two games in hand.

Cray Wanderers are 12 points from safety after they managed a 1-1 draw at Cheshunt.

Ben Andreos gave the home side the lead, but Chris Piper struck an 86th-minute penalty to seal a point.

Elsewhere, Thamesmead Town drew 2-2 against Thurrock. Michael Uwez gave Town the lead after nine minutes, but Remi Sutton levelled six minutes later.

Jack Hopkins restored Thamesmead's advantage on 35 minutes, but they couldn't hang on, and Robert Clark equalised in the final five minutes.
