The 21-year-old made 14 appearances for the Robins last season - 11 in League 1 and three in the EFL Trophy.

He also played four times for the Wiltshire club in 2019/20, having joined from Southend United.

Curran, who started out at Dagenham, played under Stones boss Hakan Hayrettin on loan at Braintree.

Hayrettin wasted no time once he knew Curran was on his way out of the County Ground.

Speaking to Stones TV, Curran said: “I had a look around the place and he offered me a deal and I just said yes.

“I think we can do something good this season with the players we’ve got.

“It looks like a good squad, a good bunch of boys and good facilities, so it was a bit of a no-brainer.

“I loved my time at Swindon but it felt like the right time to leave and do something else.

“Southend helped me a lot from the youth team and then when I went to Swindon, learning the men’s game, being around the first team every day and playing a nice amount of games, it’s shaped me into who I am today.”
