Maidstone United confirm five departures while contract talks continue with others

Maidstone remain in talks with the majority of last season’s squad following promotion.

Just five players have left so far although George Elokobi, who’s retired from playing, is in talks with manager Hakan Hayrettin over an alternative role at the club.

Alfie Pavey announced his exit last week while ex-Swindon defender Taylor Curran, keeper Billy Johnson and Max Sutton, who came through the youth ranks to earn a contract with his hometown club, are the other players departing. Curran has already been snapped up by Welling, who he joined initially on loan at the end of last season.

Captain Gavin Hoyte joins Regan Booty, Sam Corne, Joan Luque, Joe Ellul, George Fowler, Bivesh Gurung and young keeper Harley Earle as contracted players for next season.

The rest of the squad, including 18-goal striker Jack Barham and players’ player-of-the-year Jerome Binnom-Williams, are either discussing new terms or have been offered a contract.

The others are Raphe Brown, Roarie Deacon, Reece Grant, Tom Hadler, Perri Iandolo, Yusuf Mersin, Dominic Odusanya, Christie Pattisson, Michael Phillips and Tushaun Walters.
