A gnome-obsessed woman has built an impressive collection of 72 garden ornaments, all of which were bought from a Kent supermarket branch.
Mandy Little bought her first gnome from Asda in Kings Hill six years ago – as they “just make everyone happy and they cheer people up”.
Since then, her collection outside her bungalow in Hildenborough has grown quite a bit, attracting a lot of attention from passers-by.
The 56-year-old explained: “We have people drive past, then reverse and pull over, then they knock on the door and ask if they can take photos.
“When I open the door, they always say they expect some eccentric old woman to answer.
“All the delivery drivers who call always ask if they can take a picture too, and I've got a school just round the corner, so the children always stop and look at them on their way home."
The gnome collection includes Father and Mrs Christmas, a king and queen, a bride and groom, a pirate, an old sailor, a surfer, a fairy, and a fisherman.
Mandy's favourites are a gnome enjoying a cocktail and one cooking at a barbecue.
She added: "They just make you feel like you're on your summer holidays."
When the supermarket branch found out about Mandy’s collection, they gifted her a new fairy gnome to add to it.
Asda community champion Christine said: "We all think the gnome collection is amazing, it's epic.
“Anyone willing to set up a grotto of gnomes on their front lawn deserves recognition."
