Bus driver caught using phone in Snodland

Police say a bus driver caught using her phone at the wheel was 'a colossal danger' to other road users.

Kent's Road Policing Unit tweeted just after 5pm today that the driver had been reported for using the phone in Snodland.

They said: "Fortunately there were no passengers on board, however still a colossal danger to other road users!"

The tweet added: "Second professional driver today to be dealt with on their phone - completely unacceptable."

A police spokesman said: "At around 5pm on Saturday, July 4 a bus driver was stopped by officers in an unmarked police car, in Holborough Road, Snodland.

"The woman was issued with a Traffic Offence Report for using a mobile phone.

"No passengers were on the bus at the time the bus was stopped."

Last year we reported how a coach driver in Kent used a mobile phone at the wheel while carrying 52 passenger.

The driver was stopped by police on the A20 Limekiln Street, Dover, and made to pay a penalty.
