Driver dies on M20 after serious crash between Aylesford and West Malling

A man has died after a multi-vehicle crash on the M20 last night.

Part of the motorway between Aylesford and West Malling was shut for more than 12 hours after a lorry, Peugeot and Audi collided.

The Audi driver, man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Now, police are appealing for any witnesses who saw the collision at around 6pm at Junction 4 near New Hythe.

A police spokesman said: "At 5.57pm on Thursday, December 22, a white Volvo lorry, a blue Peugeot and a grey Audi were involved in a collision at Junction 4 of the London-bound M20.

"Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and a man in his 50s was pronounced deceased at the scene."

Officers have been at the scene of the crash for hours while investigation works continues.

National Highways says there is miles of congestion as a result of the crash.

Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out inquiries.
