Large fire extinguished at industrial building in Brook Lane, Snodland

Firefighters have revealed the cause of a large fire in an industrial building which led to people being told to avoid the area due to smoke.

Three fire engines attended the blaze in Brook Lane, Snodland yesterday evening just after 8pm.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the cause is believed to be accidental. The blaze is thought to have been started by an electrical fault.

Crews used main jets to extinguish the flames and finished firefighting efforts at 9.20pm.

While the fire burned, people were advised to avoid the area as there was a “large smoke plume”.
