The first call came at 2.21pm and the crews cleared the area at 3.30pm.

Following the incident, firefighters are urging the public and landowners to take extra precautions in warm weather to reduce the risk of a field fire.

If you live near woodland or fields, avoid burning off garden rubbish in hot weather. Only ever have barbecues in authorised areas, remember to take any rubbish home with you, and to dispose of all smoking materials safely.
