Around 5,000 homes, businesses and schools have been left with water problems after a power cut at a major site.
People living in Tonbridge and Sevenoaks have either been without water or struggling with low pressure water since the weekend.
South East Water revealed some customers are still without water after a power cut shut its treatment works site on Sunday.
A spokesman said: “Our treatment works are now operating at maximum capacity to fill the network in those remaining areas without water as quickly as possible, and we are tankering water into the drinking water storage tanks nearby too. Our technicians are also out on the network removing any airlocks.”
Bottled water stations have been set up and remain open until 9pm.
They can be found at Speldhurst Village Hall in St Marys Lane, Speldhurst, Tunbridge Wells, or at the South East Water depot, unit 3-7, Morley Rd, Tonbridge.
Customers have been advised that when their water returns, it may appear cloudy or slightly discoloured.
The water company explained: “Cloudy water is a result of air in the water so, if it is left to stand for a moment, it will clear. To resolve discolouration, customers can run their kitchen tap until the water clears.
“Once again, we are very sorry for the impact this is causing you. Please be assured our teams are working tirelessly to restore drinking water supplies as swiftly as possible.”
Tonbridge Grammar School confirmed it would remain closed on Tuesday and won’t know if it will open on Wednesday until tomorrow morning.
A statement said: “We will know by 8am if the school will be open on Wednesday 29 January or not and this will be communicated on the school website.
“If the school is open as normal, we will be managing a delayed start to the day. Students should arrive by 11.00am for a 10-minute form time and AM reg before P3. Students will not be able to access the school site before 10:45am.
“Should the school need to remain closed, lesson material for periods 3-5 will be available on Teams.”
Nexus School in Upper Haysden Lane, Tonbridge, announced earlier today the school needed to close early due to the water problems.
Posting on Facebook, the school said: “Please collect your child as soon as possible. You may be aware that the majority of schools in the area are in the same position.”
The Judd School also closed at 10am due to “unresolved water issues”.
