Man hurt after fire in bedroom of house in Norman Road, West Malling

A man suffered burns after fire broke out in a bedroom.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze at a two-storey house in Norman Road, West Malling, after being called at 6.21pm yesterday.

They used a high pressure hose to extinguish the flames, and one man was treated by paramedics for the effects of breathing in smoke and for minor burns.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established.

Crews were able to leave the scene by 7.30pm.
