South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed they were called shortly before 7am, and ambulance crews in a car and an ambulance attended the scene.

One patient was taken to Tunbridge Wells hospital.

All lanes have now re-opened following the earlier accident between Aylesford and the exit for the A228.

Long delays were present stretching back to junction 8 for Leeds Castle, with delays on the coast-bound stretch of the M20 between Junction 4 for the A228 and the incident.

Detling Hill going southbound also had delays joining the M20 at Junction 7 as a result, with the A20 London Road from Maidstone to Larkfield also having very slow moving as traffic diverts from the M20.
