Motorists were brought to a halt on a motorway due to a crash involving a van and several other vehicles.

Traffic was stopped on the M20 coastbound from the A228 Castle Way in Leybourne to junction 5 A20 in Aylesford until about 12.35pm.

But there are delays still in the area with queues reported to be backing up for three miles.

Lane one of four had been closed following a 25 minute closure of the road but now all lanes are open as normal.

A breakdown in the area is also adding to problems and further congestion.

Police have been asked for more information.
