Police renew appeal after fatal three-car crash in East Peckham

Kent Police is renewing its appeal for witnesses following a crash on Seven Mile Lane in East Peckham which left a woman dead.

Three vehicles were involved in the incident at around 8:30pm on Wednesday, December 13.

On Friday, December 29, an inquest opened into the death of Mildred Matete, who was one of three women travelling to a wake in a black Toyota Cruiser.

It is understood the Toyota collided with a silver Renault Traffic and a blue Nissan Micra, after pulling onto the road at the junction with Martins Lane.

The driver and another passenger from the Toyota Cruiser and the driver of the Nissan Micra were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The incident is being investigated by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, and any witnesses who may have information and have not yet contacted Kent Police are asked to call SCIU on 01622 798 538 quoting the reference number KH/DJ/285/17.

Officers would like to speak to people driving a small red car who may have witnessed the crash before turning from the A288 into Martins Lane.
