Drivers have been hit by long delays after a spate of incidents on the M20 near Aylesford this afternoon.

Emergency services were first called to the scene of a crash near J5 coastbound just after 2.30pm when a car hit the central reservation and rebounded into the carriageway.

Was held while emergency services attended the scene. It was released at 3.20pm.

Just before 2.45pm, police were also called to concerns for the welfare of a woman seen on a bridge above the motorway near J4 for Leybourne.

A lane closure was put in place and officers attended and the woman was safely located and was handed to South East Coast Ambulance Service as a precaution.

Just after 3.30pm emergency services were also called to a report of a vehicle fire between J4 and J5. A truck was found ablaze and police and fire crews were called to the scene.
