General Election 2019: Pranksters hit Tom Tugendhat banner with picture of Sir Bruce Forsyth

The election campaign has brought with it the return of some local pranksters.

For the second general election in a row, Tonbridge and Malling candidate Tom Tugendhat's face has been replaced by someone else.

In 2017 faces of Brian Blessed, Chris Kamara, TV character Mrs Brown and Borat sat atop the Conservative candidate's shoulders.

As the country gears up for a Christmas General Election, the village of Leybourne has been given a Brucey bonus.

Sir Bruce Forsyth's likeness has been stuck over Mr Tugendhat's face.

The practical joke has been welcomed back by locals. Andrew Johnson said it was: "The only funny thing about this election."

Speaking two years ago the pranksters behind the 2017 stunt said: "We hope everyone has taken the prank for what it was, light-hearted fun.

"Rest assured that no criminal damage was actually caused, and all precautions were taken to avoid any potentially controversial characters."

It's not yet clear whether the same group are behind this year's prank.
