M20: Crash near junction 4 causes chaos

All lanes of the M20 have reopened following a crash, according to police.

Traffic was being held on at Junction 4 on following a second crash in five hours.

Emergency crews are still dealing with an overturned lorry on the slip road for Leybourne and Snodland.

At 1.30pm a van and a motorbike collided just a few metres away.

Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance attended.

Both carriageways were closed to allow the air ambulance to land and take off.

Children were seen playing football on the closed road as motorists were encouraged to take alternative routes.

Kent Police said at 6.45pm that lanes were open following the earlier collision at junction 4 but partial closure remained on slip due road due to the overturned lorry,
