Firefighters called to blaze at Cinderhill Wood Nature Reserve in Tonbridge

Fire crews spent more than three hours battling a blaze at a nature reserve.

Emergency services were called to Cinderhill Wood Nature Reserve in Tonbridge at 4.30pm yesterday (April 18) following reports of a large amount of undergrowth alight.

Six fire engines, a bulk water carrier, and two all-terrain vehicles attended, and crews extinguished the fire using hose reel jets.

Firefighters revisited the site this morning to ensure there were no remaining hotspots.

There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.
