Police warn Snodland motorists to keep valuables locked and out of sight after thefts

Detectives investigating multiple thefts from parked cars are urging motorists to remove valuables to deter opportunist thieves.

The advice comes after a number of reported overnight thefts and attempted thefts from vehicles.

Between 3pm on Thursday and 8.30am on Fridaysome sunglasses were stolen from a car parked in Ritch Road.

Officers were also notified that cash was stolen from a car parked on a driveway in Coxs Close between 9.30pm and 6.30am on .

At 1.49am on Sunday, Kent Police was called regarding a man who had tried the door handles of four cars on Godden Road.

Sergeant Jon Turtle said: "While my officers are investigating these offences, I would urge vehicle owners to remove anything of value overnight and ensure all doors are locked and windows are fully closed.

"These simple precautions are the best way to ensure the safety of your personal property.

"Never leave anything valuable on display and if possible park in a garage or a well-lit secure car park.

"Also, if you have a satnav, take the time to remove suction marks from your windscreen or dashboard."
