Train line blocked after lorry collides with bridge in Borough Green

A train line has been blocked after a lorry crashed into a nearby bridge.

Network Rail's response team was sent to the incident in Borough Green at around 9.10am.

After completing checks, the train line between Maidstone and East and Otford, which runs through the nearby Borough Green and Wrotham station, was reopened just after 10am.

Trains will be running at a reduced speed over the bridge while further inspections are made.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at around 9.10am earlier today to a report a lorry had collided with a bridge on the A25 near Platt.

"Officers attended the scene where no injuries were reported."

Southeastern earlier tweeted: "A road vehicle has collided with a bridge near Borough Green."
