Tribute left on Lunsford Lane bridge after teenage tragedy

Flowers have been placed on a bridge where a teenager tragically fell to his death at the weekend.

Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses after an 18-year-old is thought to have fallen from a bridge on to the M20 below.

He was then struck by a Tesco lorry and died at the scene.

The teenager, named locally as Paul, is from the Larkfield area, near Maidstone.

Flowers left on Lunsford Lane bridge have been placed with a card reading 'Dear Paul, always remember the happy times, India.'

Police and paramedics were called to the Londonbound M20, near junction four for Leybourne, at around 10.50pm on Saturday.

The road was shut for investigation work until 4.45am the following day and police have confirmed they are not treating the death as suspicious.

A Tesco spokesperson added: "We are very sorry to hear about this tragic incident and are assisting the police with their enquiries."

A spokesperson from Kent Police said: "Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen either the lorry on the M20 or the pedestrian on the Lunsford Lane bridge immediately before or during the collision, or who have dashcam footage to get in contact.
