Valentine's Day: First person from Turkmenistan gets married in Kent

Last Valentine's Day Michael Wing-King asked the love of his life Emma Tagiyeva to be his wife.

Exactly one year on the couple has tied the knot in Rochester in a record-breaking ceremony because Emma is the first woman from Turkmenistan to get married in the county.

They had met previously but didn't start dating until they were re-united by an online dating site.

Emma, 38, moved to the UK from central Asia and started work as a care worker.

Michael, 53, said: "We met two years beforehand but didn't start seeing each other until we matched on an online dating site.

"We were told when giving our notice at Maidstone that Emma was the first ever person from Turkmenistan to marry in Kent.

"When we found out we weren't expecting it all and were really surprised."
