Police appeal after break-in at Gillingham Co-op in Hempstead Road

Police are appealing for information after a large amount of cigarettes were stolen from a Co-op.

The store, in Hemsptead Road, Gillingham, was targeted on Sunday, February 2.

Officers were called at around 1.55am to reports two men forced open the entrance door before breaking opening a cabinet and stealing the cigarettes.

The suspects are believed to both be white, one slim wearing a black hooded jacket, woollen hat, and trainers with white soles.

The other is larger and was wearing light blue jeans, white trainers, a navy blue puffer jacket and a black deerstalker-style hat.

Police spokesman Jo Pattison added: "They may have been travelling in a vehicle, possibly a white Volkswagen Polo or Golf."
