Armed Forces Day views

Sorry, this video asset has been removed.

Hear from our reporter
Alan Watkins and Falklands War veteran Simon Weston while watching
the celebrations.

Armed Forces Day has been judged a success. The 30,000 lucky
enough to get free tickets to the event at Chatham's Historic
Dockyard seem to have had a great time.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown desribed it as a "wonderful day for
a great community"

Veterans minister Kevan Jones said: "I would like to say thank
you to Chatham and all the people who have helped make this such a
fantastic day."

Readers have already been letting us know what they thought -
former paratrooper Geoff Butler, who took part in the
parade, said: "I think I can safely say that every veteran was
totally stunned by the kindness and support we were shown.

"It made our day and we hope it made yours as well. We all
walked away very proud. The people of Medway have set the standard
to the rest of the country for future events and long may this
standard continue. "

Marc Vigus wrote: "Such a great day out for all the family and a
good way to say thank you for all the armed forces."

We'd like to hear more of your views on the day. Were you lucky
enough to have a ticket or maybe you cheered as the parade went by.
