Armed police storm home on Corporation Road, Gillingham

Armed police have forced their way into a house in Gillingham.

Witnesses told KentOnline officers were spotted responding to what has been described as a 'firearms incident'.

Three marked police cars and two unmarked vehicles were seen on the road while two helicopters hovered overhead.

Callum Van Cleave, who lives on the road, said: "They forced their way into a property and there was a lot of screaming and shouting.

"They closed the road off for about an hour and a half."

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Kent Police was called at 2.45pm on Sunday 27 October regarding a report that two men had been seen with a suspected weapon near an address in Corporation Road, Gillingham.

"Patrols, including firearms officers, attended the scene and a search was completed at an address.

"No weapons were located and nobody was arrested. Enquiries are ongoing."
