A man has been arrested after reports of a disturbance near university accommodation blocks.

Police were called to Pier Road in Gillingham at 4.22pm today .

Officers attended and a man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly and assaulting an emergency worker.

Witnesses saw three police cars, one ambulance and one incident support unit.

A man was also seen with cuts to his face.
