He had been working at the restaurant but was detained for overstaying his visa and not having permission to work in the UK.

He is pending removal from the UK, a Home Office spokesman confirmed.

The restaurant was severed with a civil penalty referral notice.

The notice means the business could face a financial penalty of up to £20,000 unless the restaurant shows that the appropriate right-to-work checks were carried out.

This could include seeing a passport or Home Office document confirming permission to work.

The raid happened on Thursday at around 8.30pm.
