The victim and suspect are known to one another and officers are linking this incident with an ongoing search for a man beneath the M2 motorway bridge.

Officers were called to the bridge at 10.20am yesterday due to "concerns for the welfare" of a man.

The footpath on the M2 Medway bridge coastbound between J2 and J3 was cordoned off by police until around 1.30pm.
